Minecraft Instance

This is a diary of the progression of the Minecraft instance of the game:

Wednesday 21st August 2024 – 1st cycle

Had first phone mtg with Dante. I showed him around the stellar laboratory and the logic of how it works for 30 min and he then gave me an introduction to Minecraft. I downloaded the Minecraft app.

Homework for Dante:

1. Create trust line to 44scoot30m DCV and then notify me.
2. Create his own DCV then send me the issuing account public address and DCV name so that I can establish a trust line to it.
3. Once I have established a trust line to it then he will send me DCVs of his equivalent to a 1 x 44scoot30m i.e. 30 minutes of time. As I listened and learned from him about Minecraft for 30 min.

Homework for Scoot:

• 1) Once Dante has established a trust line to my DCV then I will send him one of the 44scoot30m DCV for the time he took to listen and learn from me for 30 min about the stellar laboratory.
• 2) Make stone tools a pick axe, a sword, hoe.
• 3) Make a bed with 3 blocks of wool and 3 planks of wood.

This was the first round in the cycle and to begin I gave Dante credit for 30 min of my time in exchange for the 30 min of his attention that he gave me to listen and learn about the Radical Shared Economy game. Then he will give me credit for 30 min of his time in exchange for me listening and learning from him about minecraft.

This has sparked the cycle of reciprocity. In the sense that I invested in Dante by sharing some of my knowledge and value with him and he did the same with me. The next time we have a value exchange I will have a set of minecraft skills that I can contribute to the minecraft world that he is passionate about creating. And in turn he will not only have created his own DCV but he will know how to do it and have more of an understanding of how the Economic Commons: an economy of abundance operates.

Now our collective wealth is significantly greater than it was before, because each of us now has an invested ally to support us in our respective passions.

Sunday 25th August 2024 – 2nd cycle

Had the 2nd value exchange with Dante. He took me through some very useful minecraft tips.

1. He showed me peaceful mode as I was finding it challenging to progress coz I kept getting killed by zombies and mobs. And in creative mode where you can’t get killed you get given everything so there is no mining.
2. He also helped me change the screen controls for the iPad over to “joystick and aim crosshairs” which is much easier on the iPad. He said the keyboard and joystick is the best controls and said he will research how that works with the IPad screen.
3. He showed me how to use the craft table once I had mined enough wood. Then I was able to make a wooden pick axe. It was very satisfying mining the craft table back into my inventory using the wooden pick axe 🙂

Then I guided him through the process of setting up a new LOBSTR account from the invitation email that I sent him from LOBSTR.

1. He then generated key pairs for an issuing and distribution account for creating his DCV in the Stellar lab.
2. He documented the key pairs and then attempted to issue a trust line from the distribution account to the issuing account for his DCV. As part of this process we discussed the DCV standardised nomenclature and agreed that he would stay with the same standard format I am using.
3. He decided that he was prepared to commit 10 x 30m DCVs to the game, so his DCV became 10dante30m.
4. He prepared the operation and signed it but for some reason was not able to submit it. The video connection on FaceTime was glitchy so we were not able to resolve it. I agreed to create the DCV for him once he sent me the key sets.
5. The stellar lab interface has been upgraded since I created the original appendix so things were a bit different. As the stellar lab update is fresh there is a a bug in it and that is why Dante was not able to submit the signed transaction. Will have to wait until the bug is fixed to create Dante’s DCV.

Side note: As the site http://www.sharedecon.org has been live for 5 days now google has picked it up. I did a search on google for 44scoot30m and sharedecon.org was the only site that was found. This was good confirmation that even without the stellar.toml file installed, the site has the DCV name mentioned in it quite a bit, so google picks it up and anyone can easily find out more about the asset just by searching its name. To install the stellar.toml file I need to use a plug in that was developed by Sergio for Public Node, but you can only install plug ins to WordPress when you have a business account. So the Stellar.toml file will have to wait until I can justify having a business account. But I think the way this is working is good enough for now.

Monday 26th August 2024

I tried to create Dante’s DCV in the new Stellar Laboratory and came up against the same problem. I had set up the operation to change trust from the distribution account to the issuing account with the asset alphanumeric. I signed it with the secret key from the distribution account and then it said transaction signed and then I clicked on “submit in the transaction submitter” button and it took me to the submit transaction section and everything looked good but the “submit transaction” button wass not live i.e. I couldn’t tap on it to submit the transaction.

I asked for help in the Stellar Developer discord server in the help Chanel. Then a message came up asking me to request a help ticket and I did, then this happened:

I had an interesting experience with another user and the help bot. I thought it was a faceless clone zombie that was tryin to steal my secret key. It asked me to paste it into a pop up screen and I did 🤡. Then I was presented with a QR code, which I sure as hell didn’t scan. Yo I bin outta the game for a while but all this AI seems to think it is smarter than it actually is. Who knows where that QR code coulda taken me ☠️

I found out that in fact it was a faceless clone zombie bot trying to steal my assets. I found out that everyone else is also experiencing the same problem with the new laboratory and Emir from LOBSTR sent me the URL to use the old lab until they fix the new one which was awesome. I was also told that they remove lots of those bots everyday. So it was a good security lesson to aware of scams. Be very vigilant with secret keys. In this case Dante can just generate a new key pair for his distribution account transfer the 3 xlm across the new distribution account from the old one and then not use the old one anymore. This is kinda like survival mode in minecraft ya gotta watch out for the faceless clone zombie help bots fo sure and any manner of other scammers.

Another Side Note: I changed my instagram handle to @44scoot30m and realised that was another great link between Web 2.0 and Web 3.0 so whilst people can’t prove that it is the same entity as the asset on stellar, they can get a very good idea ;O). This made me very happy because it gives more background about what the asset represents. I have been using instagram as a creative outlet combining written word, music and graphic.
